Each school offers an array of various instructional technology resources that are grade level specific. Use the links below to learn more on what each school has to offer.
Bryan County Schools offer a wide variety of support on the effective use of technology in the classroom to increase student academic gains. The Instructional Technology department provides technology integration support tools, creates school and district technology plans, and provides professional development and digital resources that support the Common Core Curriculum. All classrooms are equipped with 21st century hardware that meets the individual needs of the students. We are continually expanding our available resources for instructional technology integration which includes the roll-out of wireless devices such as iPads and Chromebooks.
We have begun piloting the Google Apps for Education within our high, middle and upper elementary schools. The emphasis is to provide teachers with 21st century technology tools that enable them to reach their students in more innovative and effective ways. With shared access to Google Apps for Education, Edmodo and other great collaborative initiatives for our students and teachers, we can train and equip all teachers interested in reaching their students beyond the conventional educational structure.
Each school has an onsite instructional Technology Resource Teacher (TRT). The TRT has experience using a wide variety of software and hardware as a classroom teacher. The TRT prepares and conducts technology related professional learning classes to support the students, teachers and administrators.
Bryan County recognizes the value of technology in our schools and is committed to sustaining technology and enhancing the final product which is ultimately student achievement. Currently our technology is purchased with district and title funds, as well as periodical SPLOST funding. Each year district funds are allocated to schools based on their needs and specific goals for achievement.
