The mission of the RHHS chapter of the National Honor Society

is to foster an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to perform community service, to promote significant leadership roles, and to encourage the development of student character.

NHS members are recognized as school leaders and role models. Through their actions both on and off the RHHS campus, members are expected to uphold the civic, ethical and academic standards set by the school and community.

NHS Meeting Dates 2016 - 2017: Most regular monthly meetings take place immediately after school in the West Cafeteria on the fourth Wednesday of each month (with some exceptions noted below).

Aug. 10 - Nominations for New Officers in room 711.

First regular meeting for all current members is Wed., Aug. 24 in the West Cafeteria.

Remaining meeting dates: Sept. 28, Oct. 26, Nov. 17 (Thursday), Dec. 20 (Tuesday), Jan. 25, Feb. 22, March 22, April 26, May 18 (Thursday) - all meetings beginning Aug. 24 are held immediately after school in the West Cafeteria..

Special Notice to Parents and Students: Please be advised, The RHHS chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) has absolutely no connection to the National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS), an organization that solicits student membership through mailings to parents and students. Students who have joined NSHSS do not hold membership in the RHHS National Honor Society (unless they have applied to and been accepted into the NHS).

The genuine National Honor Society, in existence since 1922, never solicits membership, rather it is promoted and operated as a student organization within all schools in America; NHS is a branch of the National Association of High School Principals.
