DREAM BIG Teacher Challenge: We need your vote!! RHMS is a top 15 Finalist in the Dream Big Teacher Challenge $100,000 Grant. The Proposal is for an Environmental Studies - Wetlands project. Our main vision is to create a mock wetland on our campus that will allow students from all grade levels to collect and analyze data from the wetland and be exposed to real life applications using STEM. Each grade level will study different aspects of the wetlands and other environmental concerns. Our proposal fosters real world learning and will allow students to become citizen scientists. The proposal will foster a deeper understanding of the environment, its function, and how to positively impact it. Developing a passion for STEM and the Environment will benefit all learners, allowing them to be an advocate for positive change. Please support the vision of our school by partnering with us in this endeavor. Please help spread the word so that our vision can become a reality. The 5 proposals that receive the most votes will receive the $100,000 Grant. Follow the steps on the flyer to vote. You may vote once a day with a valid email address! Thank you for your support! #WeAreRHMS

The latest time to sign out a student from the front office is 2:30 in the afternoon. This eliminates problems with the car line and end of day dismissal. Also, if your student is riding a bus in the afternoon for the first time or riding home with a friend on the bus, they will need a bus pass. The front office will need a written and signed note from the parent with the following information: Student’s name; Student’s homeroom teacher; Bus number; Name of student you are riding home with; Address of student you are riding home with; Parent’s phone number Please have the student bring the note to the front office in the morning. Thank you!

Dear Parent/Guardian: This is a reminder that beginning in the 2014-15 school year, new immunization requirements were set for seventh grade students. Seventh graders are required by the state of Georgia to have the tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (Tdap) and meningococcal (meningitis) immunizations prior to entering school. Effective July 1, 2014, children born on or after January 1, 2002 who are attending seventh grade must have received one dose of Tdap vaccine and one dose of meningococcal vaccine. By protecting our students against tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, and meningitis, we’re keeping them and our community healthier and free from vaccine preventable diseases. Your child can get these immunizations at the Bryan County Health Department or with your private physician. It is the PARENT'S responsibility to provide an updated 3231 (GA immunization form) in order for their student to attend school. If you have any questions, please feel free to call your pediatrician or the Bryan County Health Department at 912-653-4331 (Pembroke) or 912-756-2611 (Richmond Hill). For more information on tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, meningitis or the associated vaccines, go to www.cdc.gov. Heidi Baker, RN School Nurse, RHMS 912-459-5189 hbaker@bryan.k12.ga.us
