Notice of Property Tax Increase and Public Hearings

NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE

The Bryan County Board of Education has tentatively adopted a 2020 millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 2.75 percent.

\r\n

All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at the Richmond Hill Community Education Building, 120 Constitution Way, Richmond Hill, GA on July 30, 2020 at 6:00 PM.

Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at the Bryan County School District Central Office on August 6, 2020 at 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 15.075 mills, an increase of .403 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 14.672 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $200,000 is approximately $31.43 and the proposed tax increase for non-homesteaded property with a fair market value of $175,000 is approximately $28.21.
